How does physiotherapy help with fractures?

 Local treatment of fractures is based on reduction, immobilization and later recovery. The reduction and Immobilization, performed by the specialist, can be done by surgical treatment osteosynthesis material or conservative immobilization with plaster, for example. In physiotherapy it must be very clear that it is not the fracture that has been to treat the bone injury will already be treated by the traumatologist but everything which is related, soft tissue injury and the possible complications. It will also be necessary to foresee the derivatives of the same immobilization joint stiffness, muscle atrophy, consideration, pain, edema.

Basic objectives of physiotherapy treatment

1.-Promote consolidation.

2.-Treat soft tissue involvement.

3.-Reduce the effects of immobilization.

4.-Avoid and prevent complications.

This issue is of personal importance since I have a family member with a fracture and learning this is helping me to understand what is happening in his process and the most important thing I can help with his rehabilitation, putting exercises is very fun because we do it together and thanks to this knowledge that I acquired we are advancing in his treatment.
